Guy started in the bowling business at Northern Aire Lanes in Fergus Falls in 1972. He did it all in Fergus Falls from being a mechanic to a desk man. He went to Brunswick school in 1973. He became the assistant manager until 1980, then went to Sunset Lanes for one year, working with the great Glen Hains. He returned to Fergus Falls for a few more years and moved ito Detroit Lakes where he has been for the last 24 years.
Guy hired Emery in 1996. He worked at Voyageur throughout high school. He went to college at NDSU for University Studies. While attending NDSU, he managed the bowling center on campus. After he graduated college, he moved back to Detroit Lakes and went Moonlight bowling on a Saturday night, which is when Guy offered him a position as mechanic and assistant Manager at Voyageur Lanes, where he has been since.
Guy hired Darin at Voyageur Lanes in the fall of 2003. He worked there throughout high school. In 2007, Darin went to work at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead, MN, becoming manager a year later and worked there until 2011. He left the bowling business for a short time. In 2013 he became part owner of Sunset Lanes with Mike Emerson and Lonnie Thielbar. Together they have created new excitement in their bowling center!
Mike started in the bowling business at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead in 1978. He became the pinsetter mechanic in 1981. He was trained by Guy. In 1984 Mike became the pinsetter mechanic at The Bowler. In 1993 he ran the Pro Shop, became Manager there in 1994 and the GM in 1996. In 2011, he came back to Sunset Lanes as the owner.
